Powerpoint Presentation
Grad Success (Research)

The very first task assigned to me during the course of the internship was to asess the competition in regards to the univeristy's upcoming project entitled, GradSuccess. GradSuccess is a way for FSU to honor and highlight notable alumni and students with regard to their outstanding achievement within the university, or in their chosen field of occupation. My job was to analyze the top 25 universities in the country to provide an analysis of whether 1) other universities had something similar to this, and 2) to provide possible criticisms and criteria for GradSuccess as it moved forward. Check it out here. -2941 words

After compiling the data for GradSucces into a cogent written work, Ellen Cole, my original supervisor for the internship tasked me with putting it into a powerpoint so that I would be able to present it at the next board metting. Unfortunately, due to oustanding circumstances involving changes in leadership, and Ellen Cole accepting another job offer elsewhere, the project was unable to see the light of day in front of a real commitee. However, the powerpoint and the script for it remain, and here they are for your viewing pleasure. - 243 words

After Ellen Cole left, I was moved under the direction of Aynalem Markos, the Office of Communications' business manager, who moved me to drafting press releases for different parts of the state. In short, my job was connect local people to the FSU tag in some way; I thought the best solution was to highlight an outstanding individual who recieved financial aid, whose story deserved to be told, and most importantly, represented the type of student FSU is proud to have amongst their recent alumni. I reached out to several alumni groups in Southwest Florida, and after hearing back from the Naples chapter (Emily Jeanne Thoemke), the chair advised me to contact Taylor Young, a recent graduate from FSU who was exactly the candidate I was looking for. Included in the project above is both the preliminary notes/interview questions (and the hectic note taking that occurred during the interview itself), as well as the finished story I turned into Aynalem, post interview. - 1600 words

Everyone presentation needs a speech. Well, most do. And in this case, this whopping document incorporated parts of my synthesized analysis, mixed with extemporaneous dialogue that attempted to predict the natural flow of conversation, any questions that might arise, but most importantly, best educate my audience to the ups and downs concerned with GradSuccess and its competition. Warning: it does read like a script. Each slide is labeled, and there are sometimes paragraphs of information, or references to slides that otherwise don't make sense when the two mediums aren't used in tandem. But other than that, please enjoy. - 3062 words

Internship Projects

You've found all my projects! Below is four projects I had the honor and opportunity to work on for the Office of Communications at Florida State University, all of which dealt with a different area of developing and maintaining a brand. I particpated in everything from research - which is what I went in for - to writing a press release for South Florida, intended to provide a local connection to the greater FSU tag message.  Each project listen provides a summary of the project below, (i.e. what I was tasked to do, how the project evolved) and by either clicking the picture of hyperlink provided in the summary, you can view the projects for yourself.
